Before you start
A payroll month in Algeria is thirty days whether the calendar says twenty-eight or thirty-one, and somebody who was away unpaid for four of them is not paid for thirty. Horizon213 prepares each month with days paid already filled in, and lets you change them before anything is posted.
Where the numbers come from
When you prepare the month, each employee's line starts with:
Days paid — thirty, less any approved unpaid leave that falls inside the month. It is taken from the leave register, so a decision a manager already made does not have to be retyped.
Seniority — completed years of service at the end of the month, from the hire date on the employee record.
Overtime — zero. Nothing in the system knows about extra hours until somebody enters them.
These are starting figures, not verdicts. A register cannot know about the morning somebody was sent home.
Adjust an employee's line
While the month is still in review, Adjust on any line opens the fields: days paid, overtime hours, allowances, bonus, other deductions.
Change a figure and Recalculate line. Everything downstream follows — contributions, IRG, net, employer cost — because the line is recomputed from the rules of that month rather than patched.
Days paid accept halves. Annual leave, family events, sickness and collective agreements do not all count the same way, which is why the field is adjustable rather than derived and locked.
What each component does to the pay
Days paid prorate the contract salary: twenty-six days of thirty pays twenty-six thirtieths. The payslip shows both the contract salary and the prorated figure, so an employee can see why they differ.
Seniority premium is a percentage of the base per completed year, capped, both set once in the payroll rules from your collective agreement. Left at zero, no premium is added — Horizon213 will not invent an entitlement nobody agreed to.
Overtime is paid at the hourly rate from the contract salary over 173.33 hours — forty hours a week across fifty-two weeks and twelve months — uplifted by the percentage in the rules. Fifty per cent is the ordinary Algerian rate; work at night, on a rest day or on a holiday is higher and is entered as its own hours at the rate you apply.
All three enter the contribution base and are taxed at the monthly progressive rate, because they are ordinary salary. Only a bonus stays outside the monthly progression.
Check before posting
The month totals update as you adjust. Read the payroll register before posting: it puts every employee's days, components and net on one page, which is where a wrong figure is easiest to see.
Once the month is posted, corrections go through a reversal. Adjust while it is still in review.
